1. 100% self-funded via a funeral trust (money locked away until you die)

3. Funeral Insurance (premiums etc)

On the fly:

2. Family + funeral loans e.g. SPLNZ
3. Funeral grant from the goverment or tangihanga funds e.g. Lake Taupo Forest Trust

A bit of both:
